TOURNAMENT RULES
- The competition is conducted thus:
- There will be a number of 1-on-1 matches, to determine four finalists. Each match will use the same arena.
- The final will be a single match between all four finalists, in a special arena.
- The sole remaining program will be awarded first place, with the rankings of the other three dependent on who survives longest.
- The heats are structured as follows:
- Each entry will have two matches against every other entry.
- From each match, the winner will receive a number of points equal to their remaining units.
- The loser will receive no score for that match.
- Additional conditions:
- If a program does not return its data in time, all of its units WAIT.
- If a program has a run-time error, its units WAIT until the end of the match.
- The maps used in the competition will not be made available until after the competition is over, but the metrics will be publically available.
- Some assumptions can be made about the maps used in the competition:
- Your team will start with between 10 and 50 units.
- The arena during tournament matches will not be larger than 50 x 50 units.
- The arena during the final will not be larger than 100 x 100 units
- The team placement will be the same for each match, but exact formation shape or dispersal will not be available.
